Outdoor living in Wrightsville Beach.
Outdoor living for Wrightsville Beach's most discerning homeowners — custom outdoor kitchens, hardscapes, pergolas, and lighting from the team at Bluefin Designs.

Why Wrightsville Beach homeowners choose Bluefin.
Wrightsville Beach is one of the most coveted addresses on the Carolina coast — and the homes here deserve outdoor spaces that match their setting. Bluefin Designs serves Wrightsville Beach homeowners with custom outdoor kitchens, hardscapes, decks, and pergolas designed for direct ocean exposure and the island's premium lifestyle.
Whether you're on the south end near the inlet, mid-island near the Crystal Pier, or in one of the bridge-to-bridge waterfront homes facing the sound, every project here lives under salt air, sun, and a community that knows the difference between work that lasts and work that looks good for one season.
We've been building on Wrightsville Beach for years. We know which materials survive the salt, which finishes hold their color, and which design moves matter when your backyard backs up to the Intracoastal. Every project includes the kind of marine-grade specification that the island demands.
Wrightsville Beach's combination of direct ocean exposure, narrow island lots, strict HOA + town architectural review, and high property values means the construction bar is higher than almost anywhere else on the coast. We design for what survives — 316 stainless, ipe and composite decking, sealed natural stone, and finishes rated for relentless UV.

Wrightsville Beach questions.
Have a question we haven't answered? Call us at (910) 508-3437 or send us a message.
01
Do you do permitted projects on Wrightsville Beach?
Yes. We're familiar with the Town of Wrightsville Beach permitting process, including the architectural review committee. We handle submissions and inspections as part of the project.
02
What materials hold up in direct ocean exposure?
For Wrightsville Beach specifically: 316 marine-grade stainless steel (not 304), ipe or premium composite decking, sealed natural stone for patios, and UV-stabilized finishes that won't chalk after one summer. We spec for direct ocean exposure, not just "coastal."
03
Can you work on tight island lots?
Yes. Wrightsville's narrow lots are the rule, not the exception. We design vertical when we have to, use multi-level decking for elevation changes, and bring the right equipment for sites without driveway access.
04
Do you work with the architectural review committee?
Yes. We produce the renderings, material specs, and elevation drawings the ARC requires, and we attend hearings if needed. ARC approval is part of our standard project workflow on the island.
